Insurance-Covered Lactation Care
We believe expert lactation support should be accessible to every family. That’s why we work with many major insurance plans to help cover the cost of your care. Most plans include lactation benefits that may cover multiple visits from pregnancy through weaning.
Our team is here to make the process as simple as possible so you can focus on what matters most — caring for yourself and your baby.
Please note: Insurance verification typically takes up to 48 hours. We do our best to accommodate same-day and next-day appointments as space allows, but confirmed scheduling requires completed verification, intake forms and invoice (as applicable). Most families are seen within 48–72 hours of submitting their information.
Plans we currently accept
Insurance & Billing
Mother Poppins can bill insurance for lactation care from pregnancy through weaning, including prenatal consultations, newborn visits, follow-up support, and more. Please note: Depending on your insurance benefits, you may also be responsible for applicable copays, coinsurance, or deductibles for clinical visits.
Check Your Benefits
We handle insurance billing, but we recommend contacting your insurance provider before your first visit to confirm your coverage.
When you call, you may be asked for:
Procedure Code: S9443
Diagnosis Code: Z39.1
Cancellation Policy
Your appointment time is reserved just for you and your baby. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 24 hours notice.
Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours notice, or missed without notice, will incur a $100 cancellation fee.
Same-Day Appointments
Same-day appointments are generally not available for insurance-covered visits, as insurance eligibility typically cannot be verified on short notice and our schedule is often booked in advance. If you need to be seen urgently, self-pay appointments may be available based on availability.
Oscar
This plan requires an MD referral and can take up to 4-6 weeks before they approve coverage for lactation support. Please reach out and apply during pregnancy so you can begin receiving care after birth.
Self Pay
We also offer self pay options for insurance we cannot bill. Many insurances will reimburse for lactation which is why we always offer a superbill.
Office visits are $225 & Telehealth Consults are $150
Our office is located at 3081 Salzedo St Suite 202, Coral Gables, FL 33134
We also offer self pay consults for families we cannot accept their insurance. Office visits are $225 and include a superbill to submit for possible reimbursement.

During a consultation, a lactation consultant will assess your breastfeeding technique, your baby’s latch, and any challenges you may be facing. We will provide hands-on guidance, offer personalized recommendations, and work with you to develop a plan that meets your breastfeeding goals.
Feeding doesn't exist in isolation. Your nervous system, hormones, recovery, and sleep all influence your milk supply and your baby's ability to feed well. Hali looks at all of it.
-
Lactation support is designed to help you navigate the challenges of breastfeeding. Whether you're struggling with latching, milk supply, or simply need advice, a lactation consultant can provide the guidance and support you need to ensure a successful breastfeeding journey.

An IBCLC, or International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, holds the highest credential in lactation care. While anyone can call themselves a “lactation consultant,” it’s essential to check for IBCLC certification when seeking support to ensure expert care. IBCLCs undergo rigorous training over 2-5+ years, including 90 hours of lactation-specific education, health science courses, and 300-1,000 hours of hands-on clinical experience. They must also maintain and renew their credentials regularly through the IBLCE. IBCLCs play an invaluable role on the healthcare team for breastfeeding families, offering a personalized, expert approach to help you reach your feeding goals.

Yes. Hali has completed extensive continuing education on tongue ties and the support needed before and after a frenectomy. She works closely with pediatricians, occupational therapists, and dentists to ensure your baby gets comprehensive, coordinated care.
One important note — tongue ties are rarely as simple as a quick procedure. If you're concerned, start with a consultation. Hali will help you make informed decisions so you're not jumping to interventions before they're truly needed.

For approved plans, your insurance may cover your lactation visit in office or some plans cover telehealth— prenatal, newborn, through weaning, and everything in between.
Please note: Depending on your insurance benefits, you may also be responsible for applicable copays, coinsurance, or deductibles for clinical visits. Please call your insurance company to determine if this applies to you.
What insurance doesn't cover is, travel to your home, the support between visits, the texts, the check-ins, the ongoing guidance that most moms find they really need.
If you want Hali in your corner between appointments, our Home Visit Packages and Poppins Pass Text membership was built for that.

Hali reserves your appointment time exclusively for you and your baby. Out of respect for that commitment we ask for at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule.
Cancellations made less than 24 hours before your appointment — including no-shows — will be charged a $100 cancellation fee. This fee is charged to the card on file and is not covered by insurance.
Life with a newborn is unpredictable, we get it. Please be sure to reach out with notice and we will happily reschedule you.
-
We see clients 7 days a week and do our best to get you in as quickly as possible, usually within 24-72 hours. We can occasionally accommodate same day appointments as capacity allows. Availability varies so the sooner you reach out the better.
Concierge package clients receive priority scheduling and are always seen first.

Every family is different. Some families get what they need in one visit. Others benefit from ongoing support over several weeks or months, especially when navigating tongue tie, low supply, returning to work, or introducing solids. On average, most families work with Hali 4-8 times during their breastfeeding journey.
Hali will give you an honest recommendation at your first visit based on what she sees. There is no pressure to continue beyond what you actually need.

Mother Poppins is a healthcare practice, not a hired service. Hali is a licensed IBCLC — the gold standard in lactation medicine — and your appointment is a clinical visit, held in a private, professional setting. Payment is required to confirm your appointment, and clinical protocols are standard and non-negotiable, just as they would be in any medical office.
